PROGRAM: JUVENILES IN IMMIGRATION PROCEEDINGS What happens to underage children in the U.S. without documents? Does it make a difference if their parents aren’t in the U.S? What happens to children when their parents are detained? Who takes care of them while their immigration case is being decided? How does the immigration foster care system work? Is there a juvenile detention center for undocumented youth? Can unaccompanied minor children get “green cards”? How does the Deferred Action for “Dreamers” work?
A panel of experts from Northwest Immigrant Rights Project, Catholic Community Services and the Selma Carson Home will address these and other questions at the November meeting of the Northwest Detention Center Roundtable.
